guided climbing - classes - 1 day class: basic instruction
This one day curriculum starts early with ground school. The focus will be bouldering intensive (rock climbing low to the ground) learning and implementing spotting and falling techniques, footwork, refining balance , weight management, awareness and usage of rock features (hand holds and foot holds), energy conservation. This confidence building exercise in footwork, balance and trust are key to your individual progress and enjoyment. As the day progresses, the class will cover climbing equipment and its proper use and care, climbers’ safety of harness and knots, check system and communication signals. The remainder of the day the class focus is practicing the belaying/ lowering and climbing skills on top-rope protected climbs up to 80 feet. This class is a great introduction to the fundamentals of rock climbing.

2 day class: basic instruction
After some stretching, bouldering and a review of the Basic Rock Climbing I fundamentals, it's back to the ropes for some top-rope protected free climbing and rappelling. As you continue to refine the basics, you'll encounter new and varied climbing opportunities and be exposed to more challenging terrain. We will focus on an assortment of face, crack, lieback and stemming techniques. You will learn rappelling skills, assess individual anchor placements using modern camming devices and various types of passive nuts.

Private guiding is available to conveniently coincide with your busy schedule. EL will determine the appropriate curriculum. The day is completely tailored to your wants, needs and desires.

Group Guiding
This is an ideal class for youth groups, scout troops and schools. We have helped many scouts acquire their merit badges as well as provided the fun and adventure for an alternative type of bachelor party. We can help you organize an adventure to remember. Fun, self confidence, and team spirit are just some of the benefits your group will realize. Your day will consist of learning the basics of knot tying, rope management, belaying, rappelling and the group will be challenged to a variety of rock climbs at various levels of difficulty.
Minimum group size is five participants.
